Icefalls up to 4th degree
In the summer we look at waterfalls along paths and trails in wonder but in those moments we never ask ourselves what happens in the winter, when the landscape changes with the arrival of cold and snow. Between December and March time seems to stop in the valleys… everything is covered with snow and the streams turn into ice. And those waterfalls that we admired in the summer are ascended by ice climbers in the winter… a bit like salmon swimming against the current. The type of ice, which is very different to what makes up the glaciers, gives rise to a multitude of spectacular structures forming real ice castles.
